Crossrail is a new railway which is being built under London. It is the biggest engineering project in Europe. Work is progressing to create 21km of new twin-bore tunnels, 8 new sub-surface stations, and a large new fleet of electric trains. This lecture will describe key aspects of the project’s design, planning, and construction.
Presented by Chris Dulake, Chief Engineer, Crossrail
Free beers and pizza will be available after the lecture, from 18.45 to 19.30. This will provide the opportunity to discuss careers in the railway industry for engineers of all disciplines with Chris Dulake, Chief Engineer, Crossrail, and with other employers who are represented on the IMechE Railway Division Committee.
