Presentation 1: Engineering the DLR 3-Car Upgrade

Geoff Hancox, Senior Project Engineer (Civils) Crossrail West

The Speaker will describe parts of the DLR 3-car capacity enhancement programme, focussing on the grade-separated flyunder near Canary Wharf. Key features such as slab track, DC power and signalling will be discussed, together with the challenges of construction.

Presentation 2: Acton Diveunder – A Continuing Story

Martin Veale, Project Engineer (Track) Crossrail West

The Speaker will describe the works completed so far in moving Acton Yard northwards and some of the challenges encountered. There will be a look at future work being planned, including complex S&C layouts and a transition slab, all involving time and spatial constraints with multi-disciplinary interfaces

The meeting normally lasts for around 90 minutes, during which time there will be ample opportunity to ask questions and enter into discussion.
