Join Young Rail Professionals as we examine a selection of different employment pathways available to individuals setting out in their careers in the rail industry.

We’ve invited four speakers, each whom has taken a different employment route during their career, to share with us their experiences, some of the pitfalls and opportunities they have faced, and why it is they picked their route into rail.

  • Entrepreneurship – Will Baxter (Creative Directive, WillB Brand Consultants)

  • Consultancy – Andrew Shackleton, Partner – Transport and Infrastructure, CPC Project Services

  • Contracting – Pat King, Managing Director CEP Resourcing

  • Permanent – Speaker TBC, Account Leader, Mott MacDonald

Making the case for going it alone, Will Baxter, founder and Creative Director of WillB Brand Consultants will share with us his story of setting up and growing a successful business specialising within the rail sector.

Andrew Shackleton is a Partner in Transport and Infrastructure at the independent consultancy, CPC Project Services. He’ll tell us what it’s like to work for multiple clients in an environment where you must win your work.

Pat King is the Managing Director of CEP Resourcing, specialising in supplying professional and trade contractors within the Rail Sector.

Lastly, we’ll hear from our hosts for the evening, Mott MacDonald, who’ll provide an insight on what it’s like to be a global organisation interfacing with a variety of employees, contractors, consultants & entrepreneurs.

During the event, each speaker will have 15 minutes to highlight their own past experiences, challenges and opportunities faced in their career to date, and their opinion on the pros/cons to their preferred method of employment.

Following the presentations, the floor will be opened for questions and debate from the audience.
