YRP launched in 2010 with a Black Tie Dinner and every year since we have hosted a dazzling event showcasing and celebrating the achievements of young people in rail.

The event is attended by some of the largest and most influential organisations and people from across rail, and presents an incredible opportunity to network and socialise with your peers and industry leaders.

Now in its 11th year, this year's event will be hosted for the first time by YRP's North West region at the stunning Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester.

Prior to rescheduling due to COVID-19, Andrew Haines, Network Rail CEO was due to be the speaker - we hope to reconfirm soon.

There will be live entertainment throughout the night, with two live band sets and a DJ playing in the mezzanine.



Manchester has a wealth of railway history and heritage, making it an ideal location for the dinner. As important as the history of rail in this region is its future. In the coming years, the North of England will see significant investment in the rail sector, some future programmes could make up the biggest transport interventions in the region since the industrial revolution.

By hosting the Annual Dinner in Manchester, YRP will play its part in showcasing the wealth of upcoming opportunities within the North West and wider region, where it hopes to attract a large number of skilled young people in order to deliver major upgrades to the rail network in the North of England.

Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Club, Manchester

Home to the Lancashire County Cricket Club, and now too the YRP Annual Black Tie Dinner in 2020.

The event will be held in the Point suite with a stunning aspect and enormous seven-metre windows allowing unrivalled and unimpeded panoramic views across a beautiful backdrop of a world famous cricket pitch. The mezzanine bar overlooking the main suite which will be used for welcome drinks and post event networking and celebrations.
