What People Say
We’re proud to continue our support of YRP as headline sponsor for their Annual Dinner & Awards in 2025. It’s great to see YRP extend its reach across the UK and Ireland, to give those in the early part of the rail
careers unique opportunities to learn, develop and connect at all levels. The Dinner & Awards is a great opportunity to bring together rail professionals, senior leaders and influencers in the sector to celebrate
the achievements of those that are making a positive impact on the future of our industry.
Steve Mole
Managing Partner, CPC Project Services
The Annual Dinner is Young Rail Professionals’ flagship event, attracting hundreds of people from across the rail industry to celebrate the achievements of young people working within it. 2025 will see the 14th edition of the
dinner and this time we're hosting it in Cardiff, the first time it is being held in Wales. I am very excited for what will be another incredible evening!

Speaker
Our 2025 event keynote speaker is Sir Andrew Haines, the Chief Executive of Network Rail and the Great British Railways Transition Team (GBRTT).
Sir Andrew is one of the most senior and influential people in the British rail industry. He has nearly 40 years of experience in the transport sector, having previously led South West Trains, First's rail division and the Civil Aviation
Authority. He's also a proud Welshman, which makes it very appropriate that he is our keynote speaker in Cardiff! We're very grateful for Andrew taking time out of his busy schedule to join us for our flagship event.
Schedule
- 18:00-18:30 – Doors open & welcome drinks.
- 18:50 – Seated for formal proceedings, dinner & awards.
- 22:30 – Formal proceedings finish and entertainment begins.
- 00:30 – Carriages.
Schedule is indicative and will be finalised closer to the event.
Mercure Holland House Hotel, Cardiff
Our 2025 Annual Dinner and Awards is heading to Wales for the first time, being hosted by this modern 4-star hotel in Cardiff city centre.
The event will be a celebration of the major investment in the Welsh rail industry,
which has brought a fleet of new trains, transformation of the Core Valley Lines for the South Wales Metro, and the creation of a significant number of jobs, in particular for young rail professionals in Wales.
As
this is our first Welsh Annual Dinner, we’re planning to give the event a very local flavour and will be supporting local businesses and performers.
The Mercure Holland House Hotel is a short walk from Cardiff Queen Street station in the centre of Wales' capital city. Queen Street is served by frequent rail services between Cardiff Central and the South Wales valleys. The venue
is also well served by frequent bus services.
Keep a close eye for updates closer to the big day!
