How much does it cost to join YRP?

YRP membership is free - simply register on our website to join our community. We do not charge for our professional development events either. Some networking events are subsidised through our corporate partners.

How ‘young’ is young?

There is therefore no age limit to join YRP. We tend to aim our development events to professionals within their first 10 years in the industry.

Many of our members started their career in another industry (automotive, aerospace etc..) and only recently joined the rail industry.

Others have already worked in rail for 15+ years but love our events, our community and supporting young people and are welcome to become YRP members too.

How do you become a committee member?

YRP is run by passionate volunteers, based across the country and we always welcome additional support.

Is YRP a charity?

Young Rail Professionals is Not-for-dividend Company Limited by Guarantee which means we reinvest the profit raised through corporate membership into all our member activities.

How is YRP governed?

YRP operates under the terms of its constitution, introduced in 2009 and amended in 2015 to incorporate the regional committees.

Our elected Chair’s office roles are the formal Directors of YRP with governance oversight from an advisory board of former chairmen, chairwomen, and founders of YRP.
