Geoff Mitchell FIRSE started as a signalling apprentice on LUL, passing out as a lineman. He then moved to a new railway in 1987 called the Docklands Light Railway where he has been involved ever since. He saw it through many upgrades and expansions and new trains. He was TUPE’d into the maintainer’s business when it became a franchise and finally left the franchise and moved into TFL in Olympic year.
He then became head of engineering for DLR, and is now head of engineering for London Rail, which is DLR, London Trams and London Overground.
His presentation will chart DLR's history and towards the end focus on the signalling upgrades currently under way.
This event will take place over a video conference service. For more information, and to sign up, please visit: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/irse-lse-docklands-light-railway-presentation-tickets-101874822336
