Starting out in a new setting can be challenging (and even more so at the moment!) and it can be tough to get settled into a new environment. There’s 101 new things to learn and 102 acronyms for things you don’t understand (and not even google knows them all).
This session, run by Wendy McCristal, a mechanical engineer and human factors specialist will share her top 10 tips for finding your way through the first few years of working within the rail sector.
As well as looking at the role of our emotions to protect us through new challenge, she will address some of the things that can hold us back at work, including imposter syndrome, beliefs about our own value and the age old “can I really ask a question about THAT?” She will also discuss why right now the YRP generation have the unique skillsets to help the rail industry adapt and change to this strange COVID19 response situation.
Attend this session if you want to learn new, use-tomorrow skills to help you steer yourselves through what promises to be a challenging, fundamentally different and potentially interesting year in the rail industry.
This session will be held over zoom and include a breakout session, to give you opportunity to network with your colleagues.
