 This November, the Young Rail Professionals are proud to support Rail Aid, a new initiative to raise critical funds in support of the vital life-saving work of Railway Children, the rail industry charity. Rail Aid, dubbed ‘the railway’s answer to Children In Need’, invites every part of the railway to fundraise in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic which has forced cancellation of many fundraising events. Rail Aid will culminate at the end of November with a weeklong programme of online games, events and performances (22-27 November). You are, therefore, all invited to join quizmaster Sir Peter Hendy, CBE, on Wednesday 25 November at 19:00 for a rail-themed quiz.
It’s completely free to attend and there is a grand prize up for grabs on the night. A big thank you to LNER for donating the prizes for this event. (non-alcoholic options are also available)
The quiz is ideal for individuals (or teams in the same household) as the speed of your answer will be taken into account. Teams from difference households can still take part, but may find it difficult to answer quickly enough and will require other means of communicating between themselves.
All you need to do is;
- Sign up for the webinar here (all participants).
- Download the free Kahoot software here (for answering on the night).
In the meantime, while you’re brushing up on your rail knowledge for the quiz, find out how else you can get involved in Rail Aid. Or, why not consider sending a small donation in support of Rail Aid by heading over to their JustGiving page or by scanning the QR code below.
Contacts: James Hill (james.hill@youngrailpro.com) Katie Mason (k.mason@railwaychildren.org.uk) PLEASE NOTE The quiz will start promptly at 19:00.
Kahoot software (courtesy of Worldline) will be used to deliver the quiz so please download the app on your phone/tablet or head to their website if you are using a PC/laptop. If you are unfamiliar with Kahoot and how it works, we have attached a useful guide for your reference. This webinar will be recorded and shared with the attendees and wider YRP community, including on the public YRP website. Any verbal or publicly written communication can be captured and shared in this recording. If you would prefer to not be included in the recording please let us know in writing prior to the event, otherwise we will take your acceptance to participate/attend as acceptance of these terms.
