Many railways focus their attention on improving safety and reliability by addressing the most commonly experienced incidents. However;
- How should we consider low-probability events? The events that might only be experienced once in the life of a transit network, but would be significant (potentially catastrophic) should they occur.
- How can railways test their resilience to ensure that mitigations are effectively implemented?
- What have been the second-order effects of COVID-19?
 YRP East Midlands are delighted to welcome Andrew Love, Head of Train Control and Signalling at SNC-Lavalin Atkins. In this webinar, Andrew will discuss a whole-railway resilience model to identify risk mitigations from the human components of the railway system and dependencies from interfaces from outside the railway systems, as well as the more obvious risks and mitigations from the technological components of the railway system. To register for this webinar, please click here. Andrew Love is the Head of Train Control and Signalling for SNC-Lavalin Atkins. A chartered engineer, he has over 25 years of experience in the rail industry, underpinned by a powerful academic foundation and excellent commercial skills. He specialises in the specification, design and maintenance of high-capacity railway control systems. Andrew has particular experience of systems integration in the heavy metro environment, covering all engineering disciplines and operational factors.
Please note that this webinar will be recorded and shared with the attendees and wider YRP community, including on the public YRP website. Any verbal or publicly written communication can be captured and shared in this recording. If you would prefer to not be included in the recording please let us know in writing prior to the event, otherwise we will take acceptance to participate/attend as acceptance of these terms.
