We have two of the projects delivery managers Grace and Daniel to give us an insight into how works have progressed this year, what challenges the project has over come overcome and what the new year brings for Midland Metro Alliance. Grace is the Assistant Delivery Manager for the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Extension. Her role is to ensure that the project gets delivered as expected, to time, to budget and safely. The Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Extension is a new 11km tramway helping to increase the connectivity in the West Midlands. The line starts just short of the current Wednesbury Parkway station on Line 1 and extends along an almost 30 year old disused freight corridor, through the urbanised areas of Dudley and Merry Hill and Brierley Hill and even alongside a live running railway. There are over 15 new tram stops and 30 odd structures that require reinforcement or either complete demolition and renewal. A project to keep Midland Metro Alliance occupied for the coming years. Daniel is the Assistant Delivery Manager for the Edgbaston Extension. His role is to drive overall daily progress across all five sections of the project, giving guidance and coordination between resource, engineers, and colleagues to carry out the design scope. The Edgbaston Extension (EDGE) is a 1.35km twin-track extension to Metro Line 1, running from Centenary Square along Broad Street, through Five Ways Underpass and terminating at 54 Hagley Road.
