The Railway Mission is a Christian charity that offers independent, confidential and impartial pastoral care to the railway community. Each of the Mission's Regional Chaplains are there to be an impartial 'friend' for anyone, regardless of faith, gender, sexual orientation to offer face-to-face support.

For some, particularly those who are at the early stages of their railway career, you may not have heard of the Railway Mission or be aware of what they do. We hope this informal session gives YRP members the chance to hear a little about the work of the Railway Mission, meet a Regional Chaplain and get the opportunity to ask some questions about their work too.

The Chaplains provide support to those who are struggling with loneliness, stress, depression, bereavement and illness and other personal matters and also support staff in the wake of major incidents. So join us to find out more and get to know our independent and impartial friends at the Railway Mission who you can always talk to in confidence.

We're sitting down with Andrea Smyth who covers London North, Euston & St Pancras (Eurostar) who's been a Railway Mission Chaplain for almost 3 years. Andrea is a Mental Health First Aider who has also trained and worked at the Samaritans. She also sits on the British Transport Police's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Forum.
