Rail Week 2021 is here! This week-long initiative promotes the railway industry as a great place to work, and showcases the diversity of roles and people within it. We have a variety of events on this week, and would like to invite YRP members to get involved. Social Media Campaign We invite all YRP members to post on their social medias (Twitter, LinkedIn), showcasing their #IntoRail journey. This could be two pictures – one showing you when you were younger, and one showing you in the workplace now; with a short bit of text laying out how you got into the railway industry and why you enjoy it. Use the hashtags #IntoRail and #RailWeek21 on your posts and the YRP socials can track them. Events Tuesday 5th: Wednesday 6th: FEATURED EVENT Trailblazers North Networking Reception YRP, RIA, Women in Rail and Northern Rail Industry Leaders are putting on a networking reception, aimed at promoting networking between junior and senior professionals within the railway industry. The Reception will be the second in a series of Trailblazers events across the UK, and will take place on 6 October, at the National Railway Museum in York, from 6pm - 8pm. This initiative and event support the vision of the EDI Charter launched last November by RIA and WR and the work currently undertaken by the EDI Charter Working Group.
The Trailblazers initiative brings together young and experienced professionals from across the industry, to enable them to learn from each other, make new connections, and celebrate a vibrant and diverse rail workforce. We encourage attendees to bring a 'plus one' - if you are a senior professional we encourage you to bring a junior colleague or mentee; and if you are a more junior professional we encourage you to bring a senior colleague (although this is not compulsory).
