The electrically complex railway environment features many systems with the ability to generate and/or be affected by electromagnetic disturbances. For instance, a failure in EMC can lead to system breakdowns, unreliability and potential degradation of safety. This can directly affect signalling, radio communications and rolling stock systems.
For this occasion, YRP East Midlands is partnering up with AEGIS, and more specifically Colin Place, AEGIS Principal Engineer and a well-recognised authority on Electrical Compatibility issues within the Railway Industry, in order to deliver a webinar focus on the EMC on the railway. Thanks to his 28 years of experience in electrical engineering in UK Rail and 20 years in EMC as well as currently being chair of a European Standards committee defining EMC testing requirements for rail vehicles, Colin will provide an insight into this important area of compatibility.
