Dear YRP Western members,
We are delighted to inform you of our first event of 2022.
We are pleased to make our first event down the West Country in Plymouth. Please note, due to the popularity of such an event, we have decided to make this a first come first serve basis with the maximum of 10 spaces. You must also be a member of YRP to attend.
What will we be doing?
We will have the opportunity to attend be the Driver Training Academy at Plymouth station to use the Simulators on the Hitachi Class 800/802 traction and much more! This will also include a classroom session talking about many operational elements.
We will have the opportunity to have an in depth insight to the operations of the Class 800 Hitachi Fleet, signalling, the technical functions, and to have the first hand experience driving the Class 800 Hitachi simulator. This is a perfect opportunity for those interested in the Train Driver Role. as well as those who are interested in railway operations. This opportunity is certainly fantastic for persona & professional development and to learn new skills for the future!
The session will be taught by Driver Standards Manager Jason Morgan and by experienced Leading Driver Martin Savage.
Approximately the day will start at 10:30am We ask those who have booked tickets to attend the event to meet Ewan & Jason Morgan on Platform 2 at Plymouth Station, when we have all the attendees we will then take a short walk to the Driver Academy, we aim to finish at 13:30 with a light spot of lunch to complete the day for a mini social. We also ask that you inform Ewan McDermott the planned trains you are taking to get to Plymouth, so we are in contact with you in case of any service disruption, so we know where you are on the day.
