Over the last 5 years the National Rail Awards has invited some Young Rail Professionals to join the judging panel of the prestigious ‘Railway Oscars’. This year, we are looking to invite one additional YRP to join those who are continuing for the 2023 awards.

This exciting opportunity will provide you with the chance to learn from some of the most knowledgeable and well-respected minds in the industry, while providing the NRA scheme with a young and vibrant view to the judging process.

To give all Young Rail Professionals equal opportunity to take part, any YRP member can put themselves forward in our competition to win a place on the panel. The lucky winner will go behind the scenes of the industry’s most respected and rigorous awards judging process, to learn:

• How the judges analyse and filter entries
• How they pick the successful candidates; and
• How the collegiate approach to judging works

The winner will be selected by Clive Nicholls Chairman of the NRA judges and Ellie Johnson, RAIL Magazines Office Manager. We will announce the successful name on December 13th. Good luck!

Note: Applicants will need to be available to attend judging meetings in London on one day May (date to be confirmed) and July (date to be confirmed) and potentially one other meetings in June on a date to be confirmed once a specific judging panel has been allocated to the winner. Please ensure you have the necessary permission to attend. You will of course, receive a complimentary VIP ticket to the awards on 14th September 2023.
