THIS TRIP IS NOW FULLY BOOKED AND A WAITING LIST IS OPEN

The YRP's ever popular volunteering trip to the Ffestiniog railway in Snowdonia is back... this time with a trip to see ERTMS in action on the Cambrian!

Thursday 15th June

We will meet at Birmingham New Street station to catch the 10:25 1J11 TfW service along the Cambrian line to Machynlleth, where we will change to head up to Tywyn. The Cambrian is definitely one of the most spectacular railways in Britain working its way through Welsh hills and clinging to cliffs along the coast. You will need to puchase your own tickets for this train.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Staying in the hostel at Penrhyndeudraeth we will volunteer on the Ffestineog and Welsh Highland Railway with the infrastructure department. We will be sure to get hands on with some interesting tasks and see behind the scenes.

There will be a chance to ride on the Ffestineog railway on a historic gravity train!

One evening we will visit Spooners Pub in Porthmadog to enjoy a meal in the railway's own pub!

Monday 19th June - Talyllyn Railway

We be visiting the Talyflyn Railway on the Monday instead.. this will include a trip on the line, a tour of Pendre Works (not usually open to the public) and a chance to visit the museum at Twwyn Wharf.
