Based upon popular demand the YRP WM region as added a second date for a guided tour of the Freightliner Birmingham terminal.
Freightliner’s Birmingham Terminal is uniquely situated right in the heart of England’s second city, with excellent road links to surrounding areas. The massive 4580 TEU capacity facility covers 35.3 acres in the heart of Birmingham’s city centre. The site is a rail road terminal with daily rail movements to and from Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway. The site includes two huge gantry cranes alongside rail sidings and a wide range of rail and mobile lifting equipment. In addition, the site includes an advanced tracking and distribution system that uses state of the art technology, including optical recognition cameras, to weigh and track every container movement in and out of the facility. Note to Attendees: Please note, attendees should bring their own PPE (safety boots, high-visibility overall, hard hat, goggles, and gloves). Freightliner may be able to provide a limited amount of PPE to attendees on the day but this will be on a first come, first serve basis and there may not be sufficient PPE for everyone. Those without PPE will not be able to participate in the Terminal tour. Also, if you have previously signed up for the first event date you DO NOT need to register for this again to allow others the opportunity. Please note, Freightliner reserve the right to refuse entry to any persons for commercial, health and safety or any other reason.
