Join YRP London & South East first Social of the year as we celebrate International Women in Engineering Day!

International Women in Engineering Day is celebrated to recognise and raise awareness about the achievements of women in the field of engineering, as well as to promote gender diversity and equality within the profession.

The day aims to highlight the contributions of women engineers, inspire young girls and women to pursue careers in engineering, and address the gender imbalance that exists in the field.

Historically, engineering has been a male-dominated profession, and women have faced numerous challenges and barriers in entering and advancing in the field. International Women in Engineering Day provides an opportunity to challenge stereotypes, showcase the accomplishments of women engineers, and encourage the next generation of female engineers to pursue their passion and excel in the field.

The day also serves as a platform to emphasise the importance of diversity in engineering and the benefits it brings which embedded, by encouraging more women to enter the field, diverse perspectives and talents are brought to the table, leading to more innovative solutions and a stronger engineering community as a whole.
