High Speed 1 (HS1) is the 109km railway between St Pancras International and the Channel Tunnel. It connects international high-speed routes between London and Paris/Brussels/Amsterdam and also connects the domestic route from London to Kent. If you've travelled on the UK's only true high-speed railway, then you've travelled on tracks operated, maintained and renewed by Network Rail High Speed (NRHS)!

This event is a guided tour around NRHS's Singlewell Infrastructure Maintenance Depot. It'll be a chance to see behind the scenes at how the high-speed railway is maintained. There will also be the opportunity to learn about high-speed infrastructure, what NRHS do and hear about a few different roles there are at NRHS and what their responsibilities are.

Agenda:

- Presentation on NRHS and high-speed infrastructure

- Tour around the rail plant maintenance shed and yard area*

- Talk with NRHS colleagues about their different roles & responsibilities with Q&A.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Full PPE is required as the yard is a live railway environment with potential train/vehicular movements. You will need to bring your own:

- Hi-Vis jacket and trousers

- Hard hat

- Safety boots

- Gloves

- Safety glasses

If you don't have any PPE or don't have the complete set but would still love to attend, please contact Agata (agata.wesek@networkrail.co.uk) asap.

NRHS have some limited PPE and will be given on a first come, first served basis. If you don't have a full set of PPE on the day with

you, unfortunately you won't be able to participate in the tour.
