Join the Wales committee for an exclusive event in Cardiff with senior leaders from across the rail industry to discuss the future of the industry in Wales.

The Welsh railway is currently undergoing a multi-billion pound transformation, with many major projects across the network including the development of the South Wales Metro, the rollout of an £800 million fleet of brand new trains, and the development of the Global Centre of Rail Excellence at Onllwyn.

Some of the key figures in these projects will be on hand to answer questions from YRP members about what the future holds for the industry and what opportunities there are for young rail professionals to get involved.

Confirmed panellists for the event include:

Nick Millington - Wales Route Director at Network Rail
Jan Chaudhry-Van der Velde - Chief Operating Officer at Transport for Wales
Kelly Warburton - Chief Commercial Officer at the Global Centre for Rail Excellence

The event includes a themed discussion for about 30-45 minutes regarding the Future of Rail in Wales with the following themes:

  • Future Network Development and Resilience for passengers and freight
  • Progress of South Wales and North Wales Metro Development, Future Plans & Rolling Stock provision
  • Systems and Innovation in Wales

This will be followed by a networking session with food and drinks provided
