A joint National Apprenticeship Week/Rail Week event at HS2’s Old Oak Common Station to celebrate apprenticeships across HS2 and the wider rail industry, and promote similar opportunities to the next generation. As part of the event you will listen to some interesting presentations regarding the progress of HS2 at Old Oak Common and be able to see for yourself from the specially built viewing platform the progress onsite of what is soon to be one of Britain's busiest stations, connecting HS2 with the GWML and Elizabeth Line. One expectation from yourselves as representatives of YRP is to share your early career story, especially those with apprenticeship experience. This will take the form of casual discussions with the students towards the end of the session, where the students in attendance may have questions for you on your experiences in work. No prior preparation is required from you except to fill in a visitor form to grant you access to the OOC site. Agenda for the event: - 09:30 - 10:00 Arrival & Registration
- 10:00 - 10:10 Welcome & Introductions
- 10:10 - 10:30 HS2 & Old Oak Common Overview
- 10:30 - 10:45 Young Rail Professionals Overview
- 10:45 - 11:00 Apprentice Presentations
- 11:00 - 11:50 Speed Networking
- 11:50 - 12:00 Break
- 12:00 - 12:30 Q&A and Close
If you are interested in coming along to the event to represent YRP, share your early career story and/or apprenticeship experience, and network with students, please register your interest here: National Apprenticeship Week/Rail Week @ Old Oak Common Station (google.com). Please note that if there is high interest in the event, attendees will be randomly picked through a ballot system.
