The presence and participation of women in technology are more crucial than ever. International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) 2024 is marked annually on 23rd June, and so representatives from the local Women in Rail, the Institution of Engineering & Technology and the Young Rail Professionals are collaborating to host an event in celebration of this on Tuesday the 18th June, 2024 from 5:30PM. The purpose of this event is to celebrate pioneering women in engineering, women leaders in the engineering field, challenge stereotypes in a Male-Dominated field, and promote Diversity and Inclusion in engineering. This event aims to inspire young professionals and attendees to see engineering as an appealing career choice and for attendees to promote this to their wider networks. Lastly, giving attendees the opportunity to create meaningful connections through networking with a wide audience at the event.
