Come along and join YRP and Building Equality, along with several other rail companies for Birmingham PRIDE 2024. Birmingham is at the centre of the rail industry in which many train companies attend this event to support people from LGBT backgrounds. As part of the day, there will be opportunities to join the parade within block J. For this event, we have SIX opportunities for you to win a free ticket to attend the Street Festival!

Breakfast

We will start the day with Building Equality in which they are hosting the Breakfast Social at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors from 10am until 1pm. At part of the breakfast, there will be a ‘Design a Hard Hat’ competition in which the winning hat receives a free street festival ticket!

Please sign up separately for the breakfast https://www.buildingequalityuk.com/upcoming-events

Street Carnival Parade

We will then head over to Centenary Square where the carnival parade will start as we will then walk / take part along the route whilst watching the carnival towards the LGBTIQ Village. Don’t forget to bring your flags, glitter and rainbows. Some of those taking part in the carnival are from a variety of rail companies so don’t forget to look out for some of your friends whilst celebrating!

Taking part in the carnival

For those of you who want to take part in the parade with Building Equality (Block J), please let Adam or John know as there some places available. For everyone else, we will walk along the carnival route from Centenary Square through to the Street Festival taking plenty of photos!

Afterwards

Once at the LGBTIQ Village, we will attend the Birmingham Pride Street Festival in which there are a variety of LGBT related activities and music for us to enjoy. We’re offering five YRP members the opportunity to win a free ticket. All you need to do is sign up before 6pm on Thursday 23rd May for a chance to win!
