YRP London & South East are pleased to announce Politics in Rail is back!
Join YRP for an interesting and informative panel debate about the rail industry, hosted at PA Consulting. Politics in Rail is a cornerstone of our calendar, and this year we have great speakers lined up. Previous years have seen the likes of Andrew Haines (CEO, Network Rail) and Maggie Simpson (Director General, Rail Freight Group) contribute. The evening will focus on the present and future of rail, and the role of politics and media within it. There will be an opportunity to pose questions to the panel. There will be an opportunity for informal networking both before and after the main event. Refreshments will be provided. Chatham House rule will be applied. Speakers: - Lord Patrick McLoughlin - MP, Transport for the North Chair, Former Transport Secretary (2012-2016)
- Vernon Everitt - Transport Commissioner, Greater Manchester. Former Managing Director, Customers, Communication & Technology at TfL
- Christine Quigley - Vice president, Crestview Strategy. Former head of public affairs at Rail Delivery Group and former Labour rail policy advisor
- Robin Groth - Former Deputy Director (international and safety) at Department for Transport and member of the Administration Board of the European Rail Agency
- Noel Travers - Chair, Rail Industry Association (RIA)
- Gareth Dennis (Moderator) - Railway engineer and writer
Schedule: - Doors Open: 18:00
- Informal Networking: 18:00-18:30
- Main Event: 18:30-19:45
- Post Event Networking: 19:45-20:30
