YRP Webinar – Beyond the tracks: Rail’s contribution to the UK

Session Summary

This presentation will delve into the findings of ‘Beyond the tracks: Rail’s contribution to the UK’, a comprehensive report by WPI Economics and Rail Delivery Group. The report underscores the critical role rail plays in driving economic growth, supporting the country’s shift to net zero, and connecting communities across the UK. The session will also highlight findings from a complementary research paper examining how rail travel drives spending in local businesses around stations and on local high streets across Great Britain.

Whether you're a rail professional, policymaker, or just passionate about the future of transport, this session will provide valuable insights into rail’s current contributions to the economy, environment, and society and what potential lies ahead over the next decade.
