In association with YRP East Midlands, Enspired Consulting, and Enigma Seven are delighted to host an informal chat with Tom Flannery and Rony Roy, from AtkinsRealis, who will talk to you about their life and experiences in the Rail Industry. 

Tom is a practice manager from AtkinsRéalis Rolling Stock business and has been playing an active role in promoting ED&I in Rail Consulting for several years. He has a passion for creating an inclusive workplace environment and is co-chair of AtkinsRéalis Transportation practice’s ED&I network as well as an active member of the Embrace (ethnic minority) committee. Tom is also an originating member of the Women in Rail and RIA collaboration group that produced their EDI Charter, which now has over 200 signatory companies. He also won the 2023 ‘Inspirational Man of the Year Award’ from Women in Rail and the 2023 ‘Male Agent of Change’ award from EveryWoman: Transport & Logistics.

Rony is a dynamic and dedicated third-year graduate engineer at AtkinsRéalis Rail Consulting. With their unique blend of technical expertise and personal experiences, Rony brings a valuable perspective to the rail industry. As a gay non-binary individual of faith, Rony has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that arise from intersecting identities. Their experiences have fostered empathy, resilience, and a commitment to creating more inclusive and equitable workplaces.Their passion for engineering, coupled with their personal insights, makes them a valuable asset to the team. Their ability to bridge diverse perspectives and their dedication to promoting inclusivity contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

This lunchtime event, fifth in the Be Enspired... series, will be held at the Enigma Seven Offices in Pride Park on Monday 20th January, from 12:00-13:00.
