Come and join the East Midlands committee on a tour of both UK Rail Leasing’s Loughborough and Leicester depots! We will meet at Loughborough station at 13:50 and walk over to UKRL’s Loughborough Depot where we will be shown around the heavy maintenance workshop, paint/test shop and electrical workshop with an opportunity to talk to UKRL’s staff throughout. After this we will take the train to Leicester where we will be given a tour of the locomotive light maintenance shed, Class 99 workshop and fuel point, with valuable opportunities to talk to UKRL’s site manager and their engineering team to learn more about depot operations and capabilities. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about locomotive depots and how they operate, as well as to learn more about the industry and a valuable opportunity to ask industry experts about locomotive maintenance and overhauls. Attendance In order to attend you must: - Be wearing, as a minimum, safety boots and a high vis vest
- Complete a site induction before attending the tours (This will be sent out to attendees prior to the day)
The event is free to join, but places are limited to only 14 spaces and spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Register now to avoid disappointment! https://buytickets.at/youngrailprofessionals1/1554432 A waiting list will be in operation in case of any cancellations. Accessibility Please note that unfortunately due to the nature of operational depots, there is limited access for people of reduced mobility. The day will also involve a fair amount of walking to and from depot entrances as we walk between the national rail stations and depots.
