Martin Elliott

Martin is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with over 35 years’ experience in the railway industry. Prior to setting up his own business he spent nearly 15 years working in the area of railway approvals and certification across a wide range of railway vehicle and infrastructure projects.

The presentation will introduce attendees to the requirements that are in place relating to compliance with both standards and safety related legislation across the railway industry. Martin will identify the wide range of applicable standards and explain their hierarchy. He will also outline the processes required to meet the Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluation and Assessment (CSM-REA). Finally, he will outline the role of the Certification Bodies and explain when and how to engage with them to ensure that your introduction of any change is as straightforward as it can be!
