YRP West Midlands welcomes you to join us for an exciting morning exploring one of Birmingham’s biggest transport projects – the Birmingham Eastside Extension (BEE) of the West Midlands Metro.
📅 Date:12th November
🕘 Time: 09:15 – 12:30
📍 Meeting point: Grand Central Station (by the Bull)

We’ll start by meeting at Grand Central before hopping on the tram to Edgbaston, then heading back towards Bull Street and on to Moor Street Queensway. There, we’ll meet colleagues from the Birmingham Eastside Extension project team, including Paul Georges, to hear about the latest progress and the real-world challenges of delivering light rail in a busy city centre (no PPE needed – we’ll view the works from outside the site).

We’ll then make our way to the Midland Metro Alliance office at Summer Lane, where the BEE delivery team will give a presentation and Q&A session to wrap up the morning.

It’s a brilliant opportunity to see major infrastructure in action, meet the people behind it, and get a closer look at how engineering and urban development come together.

Whether you’re a student, graduate, or working professional, this event is a great way to learn something new, make connections, and – if you’re already working – a good excuse to step away from the desk for a few hours!

Spaces are limited, so make sure to register early!
