YRP Heritage Volunteering Weekend at the Ffestiniog Railway

Join us next month for a hands-on heritage volunteering weekend at the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway. This historic narrow-gauge line in North Wales is an inspiring place to learn new skills, meet people from across the rail industry and spend time outdoors helping to care for a living piece of railway history.

Volunteers will take part in a range of outdoor heritage tasks with guidance from the railway’s team throughout. No previous experience is required and no PTS qualification is needed. Please be aware that due to uneven ground, the weekend would not be suitable for anyone who cannot walk unaided.

Accommodation is provided in the railway’s on-site mixed-gender hostel. Group taxis will run from Llandudno Junction station to meet Avanti and TfW services. You are welcome to travel independently if that suits you better.

These weekends are a highlight of the YRP calendar. They offer a relaxed, friendly environment and a chance to spend time with others who share an interest in railway heritage. Evenings are usually a memorable part of the experience too.

Places will be allocated by ballot.

Enter the ballot here before midnight on Sunday 23rd November
