YRP Website Launch!

04 June 2020
Posted by: Fiona Westcough

We are delighted to announce the launch of the new YRP website, which offers you a completely integrated platform, combining news items and events with discussion boards, interest groups and member profiles.

The world of rail is now even more accessible to young rail professionals - grow and nurture your networks; bring your rail-related interests to life online; share ideas, viewpoints and photographs with your connections; debate topical issues on dynamic discussion feeds and raise your own profile.  We’re excited; we hope you are too.

Here’s snapshot of some of our favourite features:

  • GROUPS:  we heard regional members craved better connectivity, so now we can all part be of regional info-sharing and discussions groups.  You can also join community interest groups for key and interest areas such as Heritage Rail, YRP and into rail.  And, to better connect and support fellow YRP committee members, there’s even a YRP Committee group.  Get ready to explore!
  • SOCIAL LINK:  Interested in heritage railways?  Join the group.  Want to chat about signalling?  Start a discussion.  Spotted an interesting article on decarbonisation?  Share with your peers.  Taken a cool rail-related photo?  Show it to your connections.  There is heaps of scope to ‘like’ and interact, so please do.  We’d love to see you fill the new discussion boards with rail-related news, thoughts, questions and pictures – it’s our community to build together.
  • GET INVOLVED:  You are a key part of YRP’s existence; whether you are a YRP member, an Ambassador, a Committee member or a Corporate Members (or want to be) – your involvement is valued incredibly.  You can read more about all the ways to GET INVOLVED on our new website.
  • RAIL CAREERS:  We also want to better connect young rail professionals with career opportunities through a new RAIL CAREERS section, where you can find out more about working in rail, career opportunities and professional development.  We have also collated some inspirational videos and activities and education resources for parents, carers and teachers.  We will add to this over coming months, so keep checking back.

The sign-up link is the same as for our existing website (www.youngrailpro.com) and will go live on 4 June 2020.  Sign-up for FREE as soon as possible, to avoid missing out – and please be aware that, even if you have an account on the old website, you will still need to re-register on the new website (your profile won’t transfer automatically).

After launch, we will phase out the old website so, to remain part of our YRP community and to continue to receive notifications about all our exciting events and webinars, it is important you sign-up to the new website as soon as possible.

If you like what you see, we’d love you to help add to the buzz by spreading the word!

And, thank you – thank you to all our YRP members, Corporate Members, collaborators and supporters.  You’ve all made this possible.  Let’s continue the momentum into a new chapter of YRP.
