Women in Rail and Nimble Media are delighted to announce that registrations are now officially open for the 12th annual Big Rail Diversity Challenge
The Big Rail Diversity Challenge will return to Newark Showground on Wednesday 16th June 2027, bringing teams from across the rail industry together for its twelfth year. Young Rail Professionals will join Women in Rail, participating organisations and industry partners as a Supporting Organisation for the 2027 event.
More than 5,000 rail professionals have taken part since the Challenge launched in 2016. Teams of ten compete across a series of physical, mental and skill-based activities designed to test teamwork, communication, innovation and problem-solving. Every team must be gender-diverse, putting the event's message that diverse teams are better for people, business and rail into practice.
The Challenge has become one of the industry's largest opportunities to meet and work alongside people outside your usual organisation, discipline or professional network. It offers young and early-career professionals the chance to make stronger connections across rail, learn from people at different stages of their careers and broaden their understanding of the routes and opportunities available across the industry.
YRP knows how important those opportunities are to people building their careers. Young professionals want clearer routes to progress, more opportunities to develop and stronger connections across the industry. Supporting the Big Rail Diversity Challenge is one way we can help create more of those opportunities while championing an industry where people from every background can contribute and progress.
The 2027 event will feature returning favourites alongside brand-new challenges, with team entries and sponsorship opportunities now open. Previous events have sold out well in advance, so organisations interested in taking part are encouraged to register early.
